Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Auto.vin and the purchase of digital vehicle reports.
Last updated: 2026-01-03
1. Service description
Auto.vin provides digital vehicle reports generated from VIN-based queries. Depending on availability for a given VIN, a report may include OEM vehicle data (including a factory build sheet / VIN-specific configuration) and recorded digital service history entries.
Reports are delivered as an interactive online view with an option to download a PDF copy.
2. Eligibility and acceptable use
You must use the service lawfully and provide a valid 17-character VIN. You must not attempt to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or access it using automated scraping or abusive traffic.
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, circumvent, or probe security mechanisms
- use the service for unlawful purposes or to infringe third-party rights
- resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the report content as a standalone product or data source
- upload or transmit malicious code
3. Orders, delivery and access
After successful payment, the report is generated automatically and made available immediately. Access is provided online and may include a PDF download option.
No account is required unless the checkout flow explicitly introduces an optional account feature in the future.
4. Data availability and limitations
Data availability varies by brand, market/country, and model year. Auto.vin provides all OEM information available for the VIN at the time of purchase; certain elements (e.g., service history, mileage entries, workshop remarks) may not exist for some vehicles.
Auto.vin does not guarantee that every report will include service history, mileage entries, or workshop remarks, as these depend on records present in manufacturer/authorized networks.
5. Report language and future translations
Service and equipment records may appear in the original language used by the source system (e.g., workshop or market language).
Auto.vin may introduce translations and an enhanced online report view in the future. If translation becomes available, you may be able to re-open the online report and download an updated PDF version.
6. Pricing, payments and invoices
Pricing is displayed before purchase. Payments are processed via Stripe and PayPal (availability may vary by region). We do not store full card details on our servers.
Invoices may be issued for transactions. Billing details (including VAT details where applicable) can be provided during checkout.
7. Digital content, withdrawal and refunds
This product is digital content delivered immediately after payment. If you request immediate delivery, statutory withdrawal rights may be limited once delivery begins, where applicable.
Auto.vin may offer a separate Refund Policy (including a voluntary refund guarantee). In case of conflict, the Refund Policy terms apply to refunds. The absence of specific data elements (including service history, mileage entries, or workshop remarks) does not constitute a defect of the service and does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund.
8. Intellectual property and trademarks
All site content, branding, and report presentation are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners; Auto.vin is not affiliated with vehicle manufacturers.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service and materials are provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Auto.vin disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Auto.vin is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profit, or business interruption arising from use of the service. Reports are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, technical, or purchase advice.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates when changes were made. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
